How does the process work?
After you have chosen what you would like to wear for your big day I will take your measurements and dress size. When the dress is made you then come back and try it on and discuss if any alterations that may need to take place. If they do I am more than happy to let you know the details of my seamstress sometimes alterations may come at an extra and separate small cost.
What is the lead time?
This can often change especially during the busy wedding season. As a rule of thumb I would suggest coming at least 6-10 months prior. Rush orders are sometimes available.
What should I wear and bring?
If you know what shoes you would like to wear, please do bring them! I do have a few in the studio that can be tried on with dresses.
Nude undies are recommended
Please wear no make up or keep it very very minimal and definitely no fake tan pretty please!
What size are the samples?
The samples are an average size 12 which tends to be normal with sample dresses, however we can keep zips undone or pin at the back to get the look right.
Are there veils and accessories to try on?
There are indeed. I stock one simple silk tulle veil however veils with lace trim or different lengths can be ordered. I also like to support local makers so may have a selection of accessories and jewellery to try on that has been carefully selected to work well with the bridal collection.
Who should I bring along to my appointment?
You are more than welcome to bring anyone you like however from personal experience I would say less people the better. I can comfortably sit two extra people in the studio. Brides own children are welcome, I know how hard it is dress shopping around childcare.
Will I need alterations?
Measurements are taken at time of order for a guide when making the dresses. You may find that you would like some small alterations afterwards. These may come at a extra cost to the gown or separates. It is also worth considering this to be timed into getting your dress ready for the big day just incase.
How do I pay for my dress or separates?
Your order can either be paid in full on the day of order or you can place a 50% deposit and pay the remainder when you collect your dress. Please note no payments or deposits are refundable due to the items being made to order. Any changes to garments are charged for separately.
Are rush orders available?
Yes, time depending and at a small extra cost.
Are refunds available?
Due to the nature of hand making the gowns and separates we order the fabric needed in especially for your bridal gown and separates we cannot offer refunds. This is also the case with online orders.
During your appointment I will take you through the collection, you can try anything on to your hearts content and we can discuss making any changes to suit you. Every appointment is private and I’m here to offer you as much guidance and advice as possible, choosing your wedding dress is an important and sometimes overwhelming decision but it should be enjoyable and relaxed with no pressure.
